Full Bid Writing Service
PHOTONICS SECTOR
Effect Photonics specialises in photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and focuses on developing PIC-based optical transceivers for communications.
After successfully securing €2 million in European Horizon 2020 funding (under subcontract with Zaz Ventures) to develop next-generation high-speed optical transceiver modules, the company engaged us directly to manage and support their UK innovation grant funding applications.
During that period, the company was in its nascent stages and lacked dedicated bid writing resources, so they were seeking a full bid management and writing service.
We collaborated closely with the senior management team to extract all essential technical, financial, and commercial details and developed persuasive applications for innovation funding.
This activity included developing detailed project plans with well-defined objectives and timelines.
We successfully secured £1.8 million in Innovate UK grant funding to support the delivery of two collaborative innovation projects focussing on advanced, cost effective, and compact packaging for Compound Semiconductor Applications.
Innovation funding has directly enabled Effect Photonics to develop and demonstrate innovative devices and packaging for communications.
Securing highly sought-after innovation funding from reputable funding bodies and developing functional prototypes not only boosted the company’s credibility but also strengthened its position for additional investment.
The company has gone from strength to strength, successfully navigating its way through several funding rounds, securing $ 38 million in the most recent Series D funding round (2024).
